Beaked Hazelnut

Native, medium-sized shrub found throughout North America. Adaptable to many well-drained soil types. Coarse, green toothed foliage and yellow spring catkins are followed by beak-shaped edible nuts. Mostly used for naturalization and to attract wildlife. Self-sterile, requires cross-pollination.
